THE RAVEN ESSAY
Today speak
of the history “the raven” and the relationship that has values, citizenship
and value commitment, to speak of these two values, first we need to know the
meaning of these, Citizenship is the status of being a citizen. If you have
citizenship in a country, you have the right to live there, work, vote, and pay
taxes, Citizenship comes from the Latin word for city, because in the earlier
days of human governments, people identified themselves as belonging to cities
more than countries. Citizenship is more than merely living somewhere. If you
have citizenship, you have a whole set of rights that non-citizens might not
have. Usually you have citizenship in the country you're born in, but if you're
an immigrant from somewhere else, you have to apply for it; commitment involves
dedicating yourself to something, like a person or a cause. Before you make a
commitment, think carefully. A commitment obligates you to do something , Some
commitments are large, like marriage. When you take a job, you're making a
commitment to show up and do the job well, and your employer makes a commitment
to pay you. There are smaller commitments too. If you said you'd meet a friend
at six, that's a commitment — show up or your friend will be mad. You also can
speak of commitment as a quality. Staying after school for a study group shows
your commitment to good grades.
to be able
to relate these two values, we give a brief introduction of this story , the
raven is a poem written by Edgar Allan Poe, which speaks of a man who is
obsessed with the death of leonore the woman who the he wanted to but now the
dead, , one day this man was in the Studio and began to knock on the door, the heads to
open the door but when him open the door is not nobody, man returned to study
and a raven this glass saying nevermore , to hear this bird says this man
begins to ask questions but this bird just dedicates itself to say nevermore , the
bird was bedridden at the statue of a goddess (Athena) , much emphasis on
death, is made in the history of the
majority of stories written by the author Edgar Allan Poe make great emphasis
on death , Since we know the meaning of the two values and a summary of the
history, we could say that the value of citizenship is not related Since at any
moment in history speaks of a similar theme , as the commitment value does not
have any relationship with history, since this story is about values such as
love that has more sense and relation .
In
conclusion the history “the raven” and the values, citizenship and commitment
has no relationship, This is a story where you take death as a theme of
overcoming and you must let go that person while it appears to you in the form of
any animal , in a way this poem leaves us much to think and reflect, in
addition to being one of the poems most famous Edgar Allan Poe ; It is a
charged history of suffering, loneliness and sadness , where are we taught that
all end is bad and we have to have control over our feelings and learn how to
release or let go to people who already are not in this world , regardless of the pain we feel at that moment , everything can be overcome.
